Overview:

Our Advanced Resuscitation Training course is designed to train personnel in how to respond to first aid emergencies with practical ‘hands on’ training for advanced patient care using oxygen equipment and an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED).

This course is designed for workers who may be required to provide, co-ordinate and manage a first aid response which may include advanced resuscitation across a range of complex situations including community and workplace settings.

Many practical exercises are included as part of the training. This course is designed for first aiders to manage patient care until the arrival of an ambulance.

  • Legal and ethical
  • Assess the incident scene
  • D-R-S-A-B-C-D
  • Recovery Position
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Chest pain management
  • Oxygen therapy and airway management
  • Conduct a primary assessment
  • Maintain and use safety/rescue equipment
  • Handover to medical personnel

Pre-entry Requirements:
Ability to perform CPR on the floor

Assessment:
Assessment of this course is through completion of a written and practical assessment, which includes the observation of participants participating in a range of first aid scenarios. Upon successful completion of the course students will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.
